We buy and sell authentic vintage clothes from 1890 through the 1980s, with a focus on the late 1940s through mid-1960s. Our collection has been a steady work in progress for the last several decades since our founder, Marta, opened Hot Couture in Santa Rosa in 1983. Even before then, she was traveling the wholesale and show circuit, curating unique pieces from Texas, New Mexico, California, and more.

The vintage clothing circuit is full to brimming with incredible people who share a passion for the uniqueness and sustainability of vintage clothes. We’re always on the lookout for pieces that offer something interesting, different, or fashionable. Our goal is to find well-made pieces in excellent condition, though we’ll also often buy pieces that require cleaning or repairs and can be restored. Textile and fashion history is a fascinating chapter in our collective culture, and we love exploring that history through the clothing it created. There’s some truly one of a kind vintage clothing available not only in Santa Rosa, but at the Vintage Fashion Expo, which we attend yearly in both San Francisco and Downtown LA, as well as A Current Affair in Richmond, and various Dapper Day events. These expos give us the opportunity to network with more than 50 other boutique vintage shops and wholesalers, all of whom are dedicated to curating beautiful clothing from as far back as the 1800s. It’s difficult to find pieces that old still in wearable condition, but when we do find them, they’re true gems in our collection.
With the mass-produced clothing of the modern day, it’s rare that we see the kind of workmanship that went into dresses from the 1940s and 50s, menswear of the 60s and 70s or vintage swimsuits. Besides maintaining an eye toward fashion, we’re also always looking for unusual or even “wacky” pieces, particularly for men. We work hard to curate a collection of one of a kind vintage clothing for Santa Rosa and Sonoma County residents, and to keep our offerings at a reasonable price point. In addition to buying and selling vintage clothing, we also offer historical costume rentals with custom styling, including shoes, purse, jewelry, hat, and whatever other accessories complete the outfit.
